Buriti Gold Mineração Ltda (BGM)

BURITI GOLD is a company located in the Peixoto de Azevedo region, Mato Grosso (MT), operating in the area since 2022. The company has expertise in mineral exploration, processing, and underground mining for gold production, with copper as a byproduct.

The project involves the establishment of a HUB — Central Processing Unit (CPU) — in the Peixoto de Azevedo Gold District to process gold ores from both third-party operation tailings and ores from the company’s own operations and small third-party mines within a 50 km radius of Peixoto de Azevedo.

BGM‘s strategy is supported by the following factors:

  • The Peixoto de Azevedo district is a typical brownfield environment, meaning it is a geologically high-potential area with dozens of deposits, good infrastructure, strong prior experience from the technical team, and a local culture focused on gold production since the 1980s.
  • Within a radius of less than 50 km, there are already around five major deposits (such as those of P.A. Gold, Aura Gold, and Fides Mining), more than 50 known vein-type structures (narrow-vein deposits), and a hundred primary gold occurrences yet to be assessed and developed in the coming years.
  • In the region, COOGAVEPE (Cooperativa dos Garimpeiros do Vale do Rio Peixoto) operates, promoting local economic activity and working in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) strategy (https://www.coogavepe.com.br/).
  • As surface deposits are mined and depleted, the need to develop hard rock deposits through underground mining will increase. This will require the application of innovative production techniques, as well as a comprehensive and sustainable approach to gold ore processing.

From a statistical standpoint, it is natural that most gold projects in the region are small-scale. This presents challenges in terms of the economic and environmental feasibility of these deposits. Buriti Gold is part of this structure, directing ores to a central processing plant. These projects invariably involve ore transportation, a fundamental practice that enables a more sustainable treatment of the tailings generated by mining activities. This approach allows for innovation and the application of advanced technologies in processing ores from small-scale deposits.

BGM has been developing both open-pit and underground deposits, as well as conducting mineral exploration in various prospects. The local technical team at BGM has proven expertise in mineral exploration and processing, while the Senior and Master team has an extensive track record in the region.

The team’s work began in the 1990s, playing a significant role in major discoveries, including the Santa Helena, Serrinha de Matupá, X1, Peteca, and União do Norte gold deposits, as well as the Jaca copper deposit.

With cutting-edge technology, AI, and technical rigor, we mitigate risks and maximize value in the exploration phase. We operate our own mines, including Buriti Gold Mineração (BGM), ensuring efficiency and sustainability in the sector, always guided by structured governance and international standards.
