Scanty Project – Rare Earth Elements

The Scanty Project was conceived and developed by the Future Mining team, with financial support from both national and international investors. In response to the growing global demand for critical and strategic minerals, the project focused on the exploration of Rare Earth Elements (REEs), whose significance has been increasing, particularly in the high-tech, clean energy, and defense sectors.

One of the most promising types of REE deposits is Ion-Adsorption Clays (IACs), which form under intense supergene processes. This characteristic places Brazil in a geologically advantageous position, due to its predominantly tropical climate, which favors intense weathering alteration. Additionally, Brazil’s political stability, strong international relations, and well-developed infrastructure—including ports and transportation networks—make the country particularly attractive for REE mining projects.

IAC deposits typically offer lower mining costs and allow for the sustainable reintegration of tailings into the mined area, minimizing environmental impact.

The Scanty Project was developed in two main phases:

  1. Targeting using artificial intelligence and data science
    • Based on geological models, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and big data analysis were applied to identify potential exploration targets.
  2. Field reconnaissance of priority targets
    • Geological and geochemical surveys were conducted on the selected priority targets. Through this process, at least one major REE prospect was confirmed, named the Capão Bonito Project (PVW Resources).

After evaluating the data and characterizing the project’s potential, the company opted to negotiate the project, selling the entire portfolio to PVW Resources while retaining an equity interest.
